A full load of single trails when there is still snow in the rest of Switzerland or it is raining north of the Alps? There are many attractive trails just outside Lugano, which are combined into a great route on the extended Monte Arbostora route. The long route can also be shortened depending on your fitness level.

The mountain bike route with the number 66 is a legend. It circumnavigates the entire Lugano region, and the route has since become known as "Route 66". Ride has taken the route and given it a good makeover. The last section through the Malcantone in particular now contains considerably more single trails, but above all the summit of Monte Lema. With Monte Bar and Monte Tamaro, all three of the region's major summit classics are now integrated into the route.

One of the best singletrail tours in Ticino starts right on the southern outskirts of Lugano. The route around Monte Arbostora promises plenty of riding fun for all levels thanks to the flowing trails.

In 2003, the mountain bike world championships in the marathon discipline were held in Lugano for the first time. Thomas Frischknecht won back then. The route is still a beautiful mountain bike tour today.

Monte Boglia is the inconspicuous local mountain of Lugano. If you want to ride your bike up, you have to carry it to the summit. You will be rewarded with a stunning view and a crisp singletrail descent on the Italian side.

The Monte Bar tour is one of Ticino's famous mountain bike classics. It circles the wide valley basin of Lugano, and the super-long single trail to San Lucio is famous throughout Switzerland.
