Albula Haute Route
Description
Ideally, you should start the Albula Haute Route in Crappa Naira. There is a post bus stop here, which is easily accessible from Davos or Lenzerheide. The ascent begins immediately, initially along a forest road, but then becomes steeper and steeper. After Alp Pigni, only the strongest riders continue, others occasionally push a few meters. Below Propissi, keep right and head onto the first singletrail at Ruoinas. At Plaun Crappa Naira, the route climbs a little further to reach the alpine settlement of Aclas Dafora on the next trail. Now climb up towards Alp da Creusch, but turn right halfway up onto a singletrail. This is narrow at first, but then becomes wider and more fun. At a stream, you have to push a few meters before it continues as a fun trail. There is a short pushing section at Ragleuna before you reach the Schmittner and Wiesner Alp on a singletrail. Now comes the highlight of the day: the descent into Platschtobel and on via Bärentritt to Wiesen Station. There is no end to the singletrail fireworks, the route now leads along the Landwasser river to the famous railroad viaduct near Filisur. Here you can take the train back to Davos or follow the mountain bike route to Tiefencastel and from there take the Postbus back to Lenzerheide.
Tip: There is a "Post da Marenda" - a self-service kiosk run by Parc Ela - at Maiensäss Aclas Dafora.

Rode my e-bike 625 today! Went with "Eco" and "Tour". I thought it was spectacular! Navi showed 1700 meters of altitude. Some nasty climbs! I managed the push sections but needed a lot of strength. It was a real adventure for me!
A fantastic tour that I would give 4 points for fitness.
Limited e-bike suitability is true for all classic e-bikes, I would even say "don't do it". However, for lightweight e-bikes under 20 kg, which can also be carried for a short time for 30-50, it is highly recommended. You can really use the support on the "nasty" ramps on the climbs ;-)
Currently summer 2024, the suspension bridge at point 1658 before Aclas Dafora has been washed away. But the ford is easily passable.
Hello.
Thanks for the comment. Are there really so few single trails? So far there have been few recommendations for the tour.
Many thanks for your feedback
Frank
Rode the tour yesterday. I have to agree with gabriele.ottin: too much forest/asphalt road vs. single trails. Never as fun as the description suggests. Wouldn't recommend the tour to anyone.
Rode the Albula Haute Route shortened from Schmitten (ascent to Schmittner Alp). Then as described. The note on the Wiesner Alp "Bridges in Platschtobel dismantled" is indeed correct. There are (still) no bridges over the mountain stream in the ravine. But there is a wooden plank. This can be used relatively safely to cross the stream. Sure-footedness and a little courage required. The trail itself is in perfect condition and fantastic to ride. The tricky passages are no trickier than usual. Have fun!
A few very nice single trails. But from the Wiesen Alp, hard-won vertical meters (first asphalt and then steep forest road, which is not very attractive...) are partly destroyed on a wide dirt road - after all the exertions, I had expected a final trail firework that didn't really come. Too bad, wouldn't necessarily recommend the tour.
Me and my partner rode the tour with the E MTB on 12.6. Everything was great. Absolutely no problems with the e-bike. Except for 1, 2 short pushing passages over roots and scree The described climbing passage at Schmittnerbach was a "cramp" but well doable for two and in dry conditions. 1600 meters of altitude.
Rode the tour on 1. 6.21 - amazing landscape! - everything dry, 2,3 places with snow, but easy to pass !
Are the tour on 12.09.2020. Some of the altitude meters you are allowed to climb are very strenuous but all rideable except for a few carrying points. The descents and views are well worth it.
At the moment there is a small climbing passage (approx. 4 meters in altitude) to overcome at Schmittnerbach, between Aclas Davains and Ragleuna. In dry weather, however, this is easy to master.
After Wiesen station, we left the route and followed the hiking trail to Filisur. Also highly recommended and a pleasant, flowy end to a great tour
Hello
I want to do the tor tomorrow.
How do I have to imagine the climbing passage?
Can I get down alone with the e-bike?
Thanks
Everything is currently perfect
Hello heko 11. Is there still snow on the route? Are there big carry and push passages inside?
Thanks for your help

Was the first to cross the temporary
bridge in the Platschtobel
We rode the tour today, July 6th. It's more of a constant up and down with nice trails from time to time, but then it always goes steeply up again. Anyway, important to note. The crossing over the stream at the snow field after the Wiesneralm is now really steep, snow falls in and you have to be careful. Then further down after the waterfall on the forest path before the entrance to Zuegenschlucht
There is a large barrier of felled tree trunks in the forest where it is difficult to get across. The trail after Station Wiesen in the direction of Fillisur is also closed and you have to make a detour either by road or via Wiesner Viaduct with a counter ascent. All in all it was just under 1700m and 40km.
This tour is pure mountain biking in all its facets.
There are currently two small snowfields to cross. Twice there was a small "detour" due to a landslide and once a huge pile of tree trunks.
Otherwise a great and strenuous tour with beautiful views, super trails which are mostly very narrow as described. You just have to concentrate well and have a good balance so that you can ride it smoothly.
From Filisur station and back we had 1450hm.
The snow field after the Schmittener Alp is currently difficult to cross as there is not enough snow left to cross the stream completely. Caution and good riding safety are required!
Is the gate already passable or is there still snow on the trail?
Yesterday I rode the route from Lenzerheide and combined it with the 601, at least at the beginning of the day tour, because I can tell you that riding up to Lenzerheide at the end of the Albula Haute Route almost gave me the rest ;-)
Apart from that, there's nothing wrong with the Albula Haute Route, top scenery and lots of narrow but beautiful trails. Don't forget to eat a piece of cake at Wiesen station!
Yesterday I rode from Crappa Naira to Tiefencastel: 1400hm. If you do the ascent from Tiefencastel at the beginning, that's about 1550m. Great and strenuous tour in a very beautiful landscape. Some of the trails are quite narrow and exposed. The route from the Landwasser Viaduct to Tiefencastel is quite long at the end and only worthwhile to a limited extent.
We rode the tour yesterday, great tour, trails are very beautiful but sometimes very narrow. In addition, our GPS spit out over 2000 meters of altitude at the end - and that's how it felt. As already reported by others, steep climbs, little water in the first part, great panorama. I would very much question the fitness level of 3
Am I missing something? The description says 1550 m elevation gain. If I download the gpx file and import it into the program (Galileo), it's suddenly 2670 m up and down.
Hello everyone, has anyone done the route in the opposite direction? In other words, from Wiesen via Wiesner Alp, Schmittener Alp, Raglauna and then instead of Aclas Davains to Alp de la Creusch to Furcletta. Would like to know whether it is possible to ride a MTB between Wiesner Alp - Schmittener Alp - Raglauna - up to the path to Alp de la Creusch or whether it is all pushing? Thank you for your feedback
We rode the tour at the weekend from Filisur station.
The climb is quite strenuous, and we had over 1700 meters of altitude on the speedometer at the end.
But it's worth it, the trails and views are really great!
After the Bärentritt, a section of the path has slipped, but it's no problem, the bike has to be carried a few meters.
At the end of the tour you can cool off in the Landwasser, cool.
It would be better to say: From the Crappa Naira post bus stop, follow the road for just under 1 km, then ride uphill, initially along a forest road.
I rode the tour last Saturday. Apart from two small signposted detours (landslide), everything was rideable. The trails are really beautiful! The last few meters of altitude from the first ascent are really tough.
Route completely rideable again.
The hiking trail between Wiesen station and Solas is currently closed. I received the following information from Bergün Info today:
"As some places on this section of the hiking trail have slipped or "Rüfen" have fallen, the hiking trail is closed until further notice. The clearing work will take some time. Unfortunately, it is currently not known when the path will be reopened.
The path from Wiesen Station via Schönboden to Filisur is normally passable."
The comment above is for a different tour. There seems to be a bit of a caos here!
How many meters in altitude does this tour really have?
1350 or 1550?
