Churer-Joch-Trail
Description
From Chur, ride along the tracks of the Arosa Railway to "Sand" and climb up to Passugg. Follow the signposted mountain bike route up via Churwalden to Parpan, then continue on the Parpaner Tour (605) up to Usserberg. Leave the official route at Capätsch and climb up to the Churer Joch. The descent begins directly below the inn and is initially difficult to find. At the edge of the forest, however, the path is clearly recognizable and leads even more steeply downhill to the farms on Runcalier. The path continues at the lowest houses and rides steeply down to Grida. Always follow the marked hiking trail to Passugg and then take the old trail back to the Arosa cable car.

I rode the tour on 11.10.25, without rain in the previous days. The ascent avoids most of the main road up to Lenzerheide, but is mostly on hiking trails. These are mostly rideable, but more strenuous than the road. The trails down are actually rather steep, but not challenging in terms of technical difficulty. The ground was still damp in places even after the long break in the rain. The deep, loose earth is not very grippy even when dry. Good studded tires (i.e. not Nobby Nics Speedgrip) offer significantly more riding fun here
A top view from the Churer Joch, then the varied parade descent. You should like roots and steep terrain ;) In wet conditions, the level of difficulty increases significantly. Done on 20.07. in ideal conditions.
Ridden on 13.07 22. Trail currently very dry and dusty, but still easy to ride. Very steep in places. It's definitely worth checking your brakes the evening before!
Really great tour! Definitely recommended for imitation. But the trails are really steep. Unfortunately, a few Elevation loss are destroyed on forest roads. But it offers the opportunity to take a breather.
Important to know: the Bergashaus Jochalp is currently permanently closed. The last refreshment stop is Parpan. A little above Parpan there are two nice mountain inns. But I don't know if they are open all week. Today was Sunday.
The view from the Joch is gigantic. The climb from Parpan is worth it for that alone.
All in all, a beautiful tour. On the descent between Runcalier and Grida, I couldn't find a section of the trail due to roadworks. You have to follow the gravel road for about 3-4 hairpin bends until you find the entrance on the left.
Those who don't like steep trails should avoid this one...
