Piz Minschun
Description
Swing into the saddle for the ascent to Piz Minschun at the mountain station of the Motta-Maluns cable car. Initially, you climb up a forest road until a singletrail branches off to the left to Alp Clünas. A few meters further on, it's time to shoulder your bike. A narrow path leads directly up to Piz Clünas. The following descent down to Lai da Minschun offers a foretaste of the later version: rocky, steep, slippery, but rideable. At Lai da Minschun, less experienced mountain bikers can leave their bikes and tackle the summit on foot. For the others, the bike now rests on their shoulders. There are 400 meters of altitude to climb to the summit with its first-class views of the Lower Engadine. The descent leads back to the lake along the ascent route, is very steep and very slippery due to the fine scree. It is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and only becomes smoother again after the lake. The route to Alp Laret, on to Prui and down to Val Tasna is a firework display of singletrack. At the Tasna river, you switch to the road for a short stretch to Ftan, from where you take a direct route on single trails down to the valley floor and along the Inn back to Scuol.

From the gondola up to the reservoir and then to Alp Clünas everything is rideable. Then push and carry briefly at the end to Piz Clünas. Fun descent to Lai da Minschun. Then shoulder your bike and ride almost vertically up the slope (good shoes recommended, as there is scree!) up to the saddle and continue shouldering up to the summit. The view is fantastic.
A lot of scree and loose gravel down to the lake, needs good bike control, then about 80% rideable. Then flow trail to Prui (mountain station), briefly follow the tarred road and then in the left-hand bend branch off onto MTB trail 447 instead of following the track: best trail to Ftan. The rest then follows the track again with some fun passages.
