Val d'Uina (Nauders)

Val d'Uina

The classic Val d'Uina tour rides via Nauders and the Reschen Pass to the Schlinig Pass and downhill along the spectacular rocky path.

Description

The route starts in Sur En near Scuol and rides along the cycle route to Martina. Here you climb up to Norbertshöhe, via which you reach Nauders. Continue along the cycle path to Reschen and then along the western shore of Lake Reschen to St. Valentin. At the southern end of the Haidersee, you climb up to the Brugger Alm in the Val di Zerzer, and via the Forcella you head for the Sesvenna hut. This is the starting point for the Val d'Uina descent a little after the Schlinig Pass. The singletrail here is carved into a huge rock face and you should push your bike for safety reasons. After the tricky sections, the path becomes increasingly flowing and runs wonderfully through Swiss stone pine forests to Alp Uina Dadaint. The next alpine path is as steep as it is fast, and you return to Sur En through the wild lower Val d'Uina.

Tips: Ride the tour in two days with overnight stays in Nauders, Reschen, St. Valentin and at the Sesvenna hut

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.

Rode it today with the Bio Bike. Top tour in stunning scenery. Rather easy in terms of riding technique, but not without effort.
