Bordstafel
Description
The route starts at the Bieligermatte just behind Biel station in Obergoms. A few flat meters are enough to warm up, then it's straight into the ascent on the gravel road. This winds its way 600 vertical meters through the wooded north side of the Goms. At an altitude of around 1900 meters above sea level, the road ends and the remaining 100 meters in altitude are on a singletrail - initially easy to ride, then very steep and a pushing passage. The Bordstafel Alp is the starting point of the first-class singletrail descent. This initially leads down to Ritzbiach and then on the opposite side of the ravine through the Fasserwald forest. Fast, beautiful, flowing - a magnificent trail! It rides down to Camping Brigga on the banks of the Rotten. From here, it's just a few meters back to the starting point.

The ascent on the northern slope is mostly in the forest and therefore ideal in hot weather. The last 150m climb is technically demanding, exposed, steep and I assume that many people will have to push here. Me too!
I would have expected more from the descent. The path is wide, overgrown, full of pine cones and partly loose scree. I understand a super trail to be something completely different. But tastes differ.
According to the locals, the trail is no longer maintained because the frequency is too low and nature keeps making the path impassable. The clever Valaisan is an economist and invests where it pays off.
Great tour. Good rideable ascent except for a few meters of altitude at the top. Rideable despite heavy thunderstorms 2 weeks before. Great and flowing descent. Makes you happy!
Very nice half-day tour. Ascent with an extremely pleasant gradient, a little pushing at the end and you're already at the top. Descent at the start without any technical difficulties, but then steeper, slightly exposed and then really high-speed with berms through the forest 😀 was great fun!
Easy ascent, short push at the end. Trail down also bicobello. Rideable even in wet conditions.
Hammer Tüürli to a beautiful alp and then flowy back to the valley.
I rode the tour on 20.09.2020 after the Galmihornhütte tour. The climb is very easy to ride and quite entertaining. Shortly before Bordstafel the track is not correct, but you just have to follow the path and it will be fine. The trail from Bordstafel onwards is quite easy, there are no technical challenges. A few places are a bit steep, but I never had the feeling that I had to be particularly careful. In and of itself, the trail is very nice and flowy, certainly suitable for people who are not looking for a big challenge.
I ride a Scott Genius Ultimate and am usually in the head group uphill; downhill I'm always the last one by a long way.
After the tour, we sit at Café Jagdhittä with beer and cider and look back on the tour with e-bike: the ascent is very pleasant and recommended - especially in the high temperatures - as it is north-facing and in the forest. Sliding passages uphill a bit tricky for those with little power in their upper body (lifting and turning the e-bike in hairpin bends). The path is also on the narrower side ;-).
First part of the descent: Only for bikers with a head for heights. On the left side it goes "s'Loch ab" or downhill.
Traversing the first stream is slightly challenging. Good footwear is an advantage. If there's a kick in the water, that's still better than a fall. Second part of the descent: Flowy & "simply" beautiful. Overall impression: Challenging in the first part for the psyche, a head for heights & surefootedness. Second part = pleasant forest trail.
PS: Best wishes to the three friendly bikers we met on the alp. We hope you enjoyed the tour. Have a nice holiday in CM!
We rode the tour today, at the beginning of July. As already mentioned, the ascent is very beautiful and cool in the forest. Unfortunately, the snowfield is still there, plus a stream has to be crossed. This was relatively difficult with bike shoes (depending on the profile). The landscape is beautiful, but unfortunately the descent is nothing special. There are no exciting passages.
I rode the tour on May 31. Ascent very nice, about 10 minutes walk before the Alp. Over the Ritzbach there was an approx. 20 m wide snow field (8tung slippery). Descent not difficult but up on the right side high above the stream not for those with a fear of heights and slippery ground fir cones and larch needles. Otherwise everything is rideable except for large tree roots
