Caumasee

Caumasee (Flims)

This easy but scenic tour rides along single trails through the Flims Grosswald forest to Lake Cresta and Lake Cauma.

Description

From the village center of Flims, ride a few metres along the main road out of the valley until an asphalt access road turns off to the right at the end of the village. Shortly after this turns into a gravel road, turn left and after a few meters a flowing singletrail starts on the left, which you follow to the gravel road above Lake Cresta. Follow this road - now slightly uphill - and always take the uphill path at crossroads. Eventually you reach the Conn forest clearing with its outstanding view of the Rhine Gorge, the "Little Swiss Grand Canyon". A forest road then takes you to Lake Cauma, an idyllic mountain lake in the middle of the dense forest. After a long break, ride back to Flims on the access road.

Alternatives: There are countless single trails in the Flims Grosswald forest that can be used as shortcuts and additional loops. Just ride along, at some point you will always come to a point in the forest's network of trails where you can orientate yourself or which you have already passed before.

Lake Cauma is uniquely beautiful and there is also a viewpoint into the Rhine Gorge nearby.
Here is a video of a tour in this area, including Lake Cresta.

Attention, in my opinion the tour description and track do not match here. The track starts in the direction of Lake Cauma and then leads across the Conn clearing to Lake Cresta, i.e. the track is in reverse order. And: the start and finish points of the track do not correspond with friction.
