Chörbschhorn | Ride MTB

Chörbschhorn

The Chörbschhorn is an inconspicuous peak near Davos - but has one of the longest singletrail descents in the region. With the return journey via the Rinerhorn, the route becomes a spectacle for enduro bikers.

Description

Ideally, the tour starts on the Weissfluhjoch with a descent via the rocky path to the Strelapass. From the Strelapass, a single trail rides over several steps to the Chörbschhorn. If you want to reach the summit with its beautiful panoramic views, you will have to accept a short but challenging push section. The descent leads from the refuge on a singletrail over the ridge to Stafelalp, where you follow the signposted mountain bike route downhill. Where the trail turns into an alpine road in a bend, you leave the official route and take the single trail, which continues downhill in the fall line. This finally takes you to the main road near Frauenkirch, which you follow to the valley station of the Rinerhorn cable car. The gondola lift takes you up, and from the mountain station a moderately ascending alpine trail rides up to Äbirügg, the starting point of the brilliant final descent. The trail descent runs along the ridge through the steep forest to Heidboden and finally to the little road into the Sertig valley. The signposted route takes you back to Davos.

Did the tour on 19.07.2020. Renovated rocky path and the entire tour via Strelapass and Chörbschhornhütte down to Frauenkirch easily rideable and beautiful. However, the second part from the Rinerhornbahn was not worth it. In any case, you can't call it brilliant in 2020. The cow pasture in the upper section is boggy and peppered with cattle footprints. In the forest, the trail is average, especially as you soon reach the road = boring.

tralala

Checked 2018

According to information from the Davos mountain railroads, the rocky trail between the Weissfluhjoch and the Strelapass is being dismantled due to the risk of collapse. The trail is expected to remain completely closed until the end of August 2019.
