Regitzer Spitz
Description
From the wine-growing village of Fläsch, you cycle northwards along the vineyards at the foot of the Fläscherberg to the banks of the Rhine and round the Fläscherberg to Mäls in the Principality of Liechtenstein. On the north side of the Fläscherberg, you climb up to below the Regitzer Spitze, the highest point of the mountain. A single trail leads to the top, which is well worth the effort. The actual descent begins below the Regitzer Spitze and is a technically demanding but flowing single trail back to the village of Fläsch. This trail is considered one of the most attractive far and wide.
Note: The descent from Ochsenberg to Fläsch has been closed since fall 2016. It is quite possible that this route will never be accessible again due to falling rocks and the risk of landslides. The tour has therefore been rerouted and now leads from Ochsenberg via Matluschkopd to Fläsch. This singletrail descent is on a par with the original descent, but includes a short counter-climb and a few extremely tricky switchbacks on the descent
Alternatives: From Mäls to Ellhorn instead of Fläschberg and on the singletrail back to the banks of the Rhine; ascent from Fläsch via St. Luzisteig to Regitzer Spitze

The downhill shortcuts from the Regitzer Spitz have been closed since 2023. The single trails have been blocked either with fences or tree trunks. So you have to go down the switchbacks that lead to the Regitzer Spitz. To be honest, this was only a matter of time and in my opinion it's ok. The rest is still fun and well worth the tour.
Hello Matz. I don't quite understand exactly which sections are closed. Is the tour, as marked on ride.ch, not 1:1 halfway legal to ride? Where exactly do you have to make detours? Many thanks & regards, Marc
Only the first hairpin bends are barricaded with trees. Not a hundred meters in altitude. So no problem. By the way, the direct descent from Ochsenalp to Fläsch is open again.
Really a great tour! Good for after work - the ascent is very tough and requires stamina.
But the descent is great from A to Z!
Always worth a trip with a great view!
Unfortunately, the municipality of Fläsch has made a huge effort to close off the upper trails: As Derek already writes, with metal fences etc, and the really perverse (sorry): Tens of . Trees felled to make the trails impassable. This is how environmental protection works, cutting down trees so that the bikers leave no tracks?
The sign says: Bike rules, consideration for hikers, this is all well and good.
But strange: priority for forestry and agriculture on hiking trails?
For your information: All trails in the first 150 meters from the summit are now massively closed. Massively means with wooden posts and fences. The only way down is the same as the ascent. Whoever made this effort wanted to send a clear signal that these trails should no longer be used. Anyone who tries to circumvent the closures (hardly feasible!) will only provoke more trouble for the mountain biking community.
We climbed from the road and not from the trail. Much better and rideable. To lengthen the tour, we descended back to the military zone and then climbed up from there. Then we took another trail to the finish.

Rode today. On the first descent of the Fläsch - Mattheid section, a big tree lies in the middle of the steep trail. A tedious bike carry over, but then again great downhill meters afterwards. For the ascent to Regitzer Spitz, it is better not to take the steep trail to HInter Ochsenberg, which is not suitable for normal bikers, but simply continue along the forest road. This rides almost all the way to the summit. The ascent to the Matluschkopf is also very steep again - almost no chance without a motor... This is followed by the hairpin bend paradise ;-)

The gpx route goes uphill on a field that is extremely difficult to ride. When we did the tour the route was blocked and an electric fence surrounded a herd of cows and bulls. We had to carry the bikes up a steep grassy field to avoid. To avoid, after passing the small lake near Schlariswand , I recommend staying on the access road to the peak of Regitzer Spitz. The single trail from the top of Regitzerspitz is varied and a lot of fun.
Update 11.03.2018
The wooden shed has been removed. Instead, only the steel gate remains at this point. Next to it is a permanent sign with the following text: "Walking and driving on the hiking trail to Fläsch is closed due to a landslide and danger of falling rocks! Enter at your own risk! Use the hiking trail via Matlusch."
The path is frequently used by hikers and bikers and is largely safe in my opinion. The only place where you should not stay unnecessarily is in the gully where the scree is still lying, due to the actual danger of falling rocks.

The wooden shed has been removed. Instead, only the steel gate remains at this point. Next to it is a permanent plaque with the following text: "
The descent from Ochsenberg to Fläsch is permanently closed (as of winter 2016). It is virtually impossible to get through. The route has therefore been redesigned and now rides over the Matluschkopf. This version is just as good as the original descent - even longer.
Update: 13.10.2016
The downhill trail from Vorderer Ochsenberg back to Fläsch has been closed by the municipality due to "strong landslide and rockfall hazards". The access road has been barricaded with a massive wooden crate and barbed wire. Unfortunately, this means that one of the most beautiful passages of the classic route is no longer possible for the time being.
We were forced to return via the St. Luziensteig Asphatstrasse. At best, the hiking trail via Matlusch could be used as an alternative. Due to time constraints, we decided against it.
