BMC has announced that it will not be developing any new models for its subsidiary brand Scor. Is this the end of the trail bikes from Grenchen or are they just being put on hold? David Heine from BMC answers Ride's questions - including about BMC's cross-country bikes and the World Cup team.

BMC, like so many bicycle companies, is under pressure. That is why the Swiss manufacturer is now cutting 40 jobs worldwide. The reorganization includes a focus on gravel and road bikes. According to media reports, the subsidiary brand Scor will no longer be developing any new models.

The 6080 Z from Scor is a downhill bike with an integrated shuttle. The Bosch "Performance Line CX" motor and the 750 watt-hour battery join forces to help propel the aluminum racer with its 180 and 190 millimetre suspension travel, including the rider, to the trail entrance. The bike is available in sizes S to XL and comes with mixed wheel sizes ex works.

From now on, the Scor e-mountainbikes are getting an update for even more fun: the new Shimano EP801 drive unit provides plenty of propulsion over a wider cadence range. And all SCOR e-bikes are now equipped with SRAM's GX Eagle groupset with Code RSC brakes or with the NX Eagle groupset with Code R brakes. The entire range has also been given a new coat of paint

Scor is responding to market feedback and is adjusting the non-binding sales prices of the 2024 models in line with the current market situation. The price reductions range between 200 and 1300 francs, while the frame kits retain their prices. The euro price reductions range between 500 and 1000 euros, with prices remaining the same for some models in addition to the frame kits.

Less suspension travel, light and extremely versatile - that's the 2030, the latest bike from Scor. The 2030 is a trail bike with 120 or optionally 130 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear. It uses the suspension platform of the first 4060, comes in five new sizes and is designed to offer one thing above all else - lots of fun, whether touring or jibbing around.

There's nothing better than playing with friends on a bike, and Scor's latest riding buddy is someone who has elevated playing to a fine art. Brit Josh 'Loose Dog' Lewis is known for his incredible creativity on and off the bike. This makes him the perfect partner for the Swiss mountain bike brand, whose brand claim is Play the Mountains.

Scor believes that riders of all ages should have the opportunity to "play" in the mountains. That's why the Grenchen-based forge is launching children's bikes for the first time, which are like real mountain bikes, only slightly smaller. Scor offers one 20-inch and one 24-inch bike.

How do you increase desirability? Exactly, with a limited edition that packs a punch. That's what Scor is currently doing - with the 4060 LT frameset, which is limited to 100 units.

Late last summer, Scor announced its market entry and presented its mountain bike range shortly afterwards. Ride editor Balz Weber tested the 4060 in the long and short-travel versions, each in the top configuration, and reports on these "trail dates".

Scor, the new trail bike brand from BMC, was unveiled at the end of August. Now the young brand is unveiling its mountain bikes - two platforms, the muscle-powered 4060 and the electrically assisted 4060-Z frames with 140 or 160 millimetres of suspension travel and two equipment variants each. The models have one thing in common: they should be great fun on all types of trails and in bike parks.

Since the "Trailfox" enduro bike was dropped from the portfolio, BMC no longer has a longtravel bike. Although this will remain the case, the BMC Group is now launching a new trail bike brand, Scor, which was born from a passion project of two employees. Scor Brand Manager Thomas Knecht reveals the background and plans for the young brand.
