Bags are always a tricky thing. They are often too big or too small or don't fit in any other way. Honestly, don't you always have "one" bag too few? There are products that are unique in their kind and are not absolutely necessary for the life of a biker, but they are helpful. Ride has tested five such bags. They can all be used for more than just one purpose and are perhaps exactly the "one" bag that is still missing.

The 05 issue of Ride describes ten multi-day tours. For many mountain bikers, they are the highlight of every summer tour. But the term "multi-day tours" alone conjures up the horrible thought of a lot of luggage. But you don't need much at all, especially if you don't want the fun on the trails to suffer from excess weight.

Bikepacking has evolved from a secret trend to a mainstream activity in recent years. In the past, mountain bikers used to carry bulky panniers on their touring bikes, but nowadays they strap functional and lightweight panniers to their bikes and set off on multi-day tours. Such bags are available from Ortlieb, among others, and we strapped the Seat Pack and Handlebar Pack to our bikes for testing.

Biking in the rain is not everyone's cup of tea. But sometimes it can't be avoided because the camp is booked, the Transalp is organized or the long-planned weekend is unexpectedly wet. Fortunately, there are products that help you to have fun and be in a good mood even in bad weather. I have exposed five of these to the elements over the last few months.
