With the new Striker, Northwave is expanding its Core collection to include an off-road shoe designed for long days in the saddle. The model is aimed at cross-country, marathon, and gravel riders who want to combine direct power transfer with ample comfort. In addition to the standard version, Northwave also offers the shoe in a wider “Wide-Fit” version.

The Striker is built on the Carbon XC 12 sole. It is designed to provide sufficient stiffness for efficient power transfer while remaining comfortable on long rides. Inserts made of thermoplastic polyurethane improve grip when the bike needs to be pushed or carried on technical sections or short walking stretches.

Air channels to prevent hot feet

For ventilation, Northwave relies on integrated air channels and an open mesh tongue. The design is intended to dissipate heat more effectively and ensure a comfortable foot environment even at high temperatures.

The upper is protected in high-stress areas by welded reinforcements made of thermoplastic polyurethane. These are designed to increase the shoe’s lifespan without making it unnecessarily heavy. In the heel area, the so-called Heel Grip System holds the foot in place and is designed to prevent the heel from slipping upward while pedaling.

The Striker is fastened with two X-Dial SLW3 rotary closures. These allow different areas of the shoe to be adjusted independently. Riders can gradually tighten or loosen the fit while riding.

Wide Fit provides more space

With the Wide Fit version, Northwave is responding to the demand for athletic shoes for wider feet. It offers more interior volume and additional space in the forefoot area. The sole, closure system, and other technical features are the same as in the standard version. This ensures that the wider fit does not compromise either stability or direct power transfer.

The standard version is available in the color combinations Sage, Sand with Green Forest, Light Gray with Black, and Black with Light Gray. The Wide Fit version is offered in Black with Light Gray. The shoe is available in sizes 36 through 48 and weighs 364 grams, according to the manufacturer. The specifications do not indicate whether the weight refers to a single shoe or to which size it applies.

The recommended retail price is 209.99 euros. The Striker is now available at specialty retailers and in Northwave’s online store.
