The Aiguille de la Grand Sassière is considered the highest point in the Alps that can be reached on a mountain bike. The Italian news agency ANSA reports the death of a 48-year-old Swiss mountain biker last Friday on the "Il Cacciatore" trail in the Calice Ligure area. He is said to have fallen due to an ailment and subsequently died.

The Bluegrass Trophy of Nations marks the end of the tenth season of the Enduro World Series and brings together 28 nations at the most iconic of all race venues, Finale Ligure. The three-man teams from France and New Zealand are the fastest. Germany takes silver in the women's race, while the Swiss finish sixth. The German trio rode to fourth place in the men's race.

Liguria is the only region in Italy on the Federal Office of Public Health's new risk list. Anyone traveling from there to Switzerland must go into quarantine for ten days. This rule applies from Monday, September 28, for everyone who has been in Liguria for at least 24 hours since September 18. This could also include participants in the EWS race in Pietra Ligure.
