Ride launches its season every year in the Vosges and this year invites its readers to the Flow & Spa Camp from April 22 to 24. A new bike trail has recently been opened near Silandro/Schlanders in Val Venosta/Vinschgau. It largely replaces the well-known Patscher descent, which will be reserved for hikers in future. The intention behind the new trail is to be able to channel the many bikers with attractive routes.

The first "Trail Days" bike and music festival will take place in Latsch from May 14 to 17, 2015. The main focus is on riding trails with like-minded people. Test bikes will also be available and after the guided tours you can relax to good music and celebrate the start of the season.

While the best days of marathon competitions for mountain bikers are behind us in Switzerland, they continue to enjoy undiminished popularity in Italy. This year, the "Ortler Bike Marathon" will be held for the first time in the upper Vinschgau Valley on June 6.

This year marks a memorable anniversary in Val Venosta/Vinschgau. On May 23, 1915 - 100 years ago - Italy declared war on the Austro-Hungarian Empire and a position was taken on the Stelvio Pass. Today, mountain bikers are out and about on the war trails. A film shows the contrast between then and now.

The twins Carolin and Anita Gehrig snatched the unofficial single trail world record from Thomas, Frischknecht and Giger. On the occasion of the SRF Summer Challenge, the enduro racers in Latsch improved the record to 15'117 vertical meters of singletrail descent.

The mountain bike season has been underway since the first warm days of spring. To coincide with this, three new map sheets have been published by Singletrail Maps. There is a new map for the Upper Vinschgau Valley and two maps for Valais between Sierre and Verbier.

As if there weren't already enough single trails in Val Venosta/Vinschgau, the people of Silandro/Schlanders and Laces/Latsch have grabbed a shovel and created two flow trails on the slopes. They are called "Sunny Benny" and "Holy Hansen" and are reserved for mountain bikers. Ride has already ridden both and provides its readers with the GPS tracks.
