The region of Catalonia in northern Spain is known as a popular destination for mountain bikers. In March, Ride returned to the Girona area to scout new routes and subsequently added a batch of new routes to the tour database, further expanding its already extensive collection. 

In Girona, a cyclist had the horror experience of his life. His ride ended in hospital with a shot to the stomach. The reason: he was mistaken for a wild boar by a hunter.

The year 2021 was the most successful so far for the "Thömus maxon Swiss Mountain Bike Racing" team. By winning the UCI Mountain Bike Overall World Cup and Mathias Flückiger's outstanding performances, the Swiss team has arrived at the top of the world.

Joris Ryf rides to second place in the fourth race of the World E-Mountainbike Series in Girona, Spain, keeping the battle for overall victory wide open. World champion Jérôme Gilloux (FRA) wins the race, with Spain's Ismael Esteban Aguero in third place.
