Madeira - that means sun, sea and some of the most technically challenging trails in Europe. But what awaited Brendan Fairclough and Andrew Neethling on the Trans Madeira in the summer of 2025 was an adventure in a class of its own, even for the experienced enduro pros.

Enduro pro Adrien Loron has a dream: to ride the Trans Madeira stage race with his father, who taught him how to ride a bike. A huge challenge for the 65-year-old. A short film about what is possible when you believe in yourself and others encourage you.

The mountain bike is also a means of transportation. Four kayakers pedaled almost 800 kilometers through the Alps with bag, baggage and kayak on their bike trailers to navigate ten whitewater rivers and reach the spots in a climate-neutral way thanks to the bike. The Spaniard Sami Sauri took a similar approach: strapping her surfboard to her bike trailer, she cycled from surf spot to surf spot in Madeira, turning each section of the journey into a small journey in itself.

In the Trans Madeira enduro stage race, Swiss rider Anita Gehrig wins all five of the day's classifications to take overall victory, followed by her sister Carolin Gehrig and third-placed Monika Büchi. In the men's race, the German Christian Textor wins the overall standings. The five days of racing are characterized by heavy rainfall in places, which meant that some stages had to be cancelled.

Three races, three wins each: Martin Maes and Isabeau Courdurier also win the Enduro World Series race on Madeira. They both clearly beat their competitors. Maxime Chapuis is the best Swiss rider, closely followed by Gusti Wildhaber. Anita and Carolin Gehrig improve significantly and finish the race in fifth and twelfth place.

Victory in the third race of the Enduro World Series goes to Greg Callaghan. After two tough days of racing on the Atlantic island of Madeira, the Irishman beat Belgium's Martin Maes and France's Damien Oton. Cecile Ravanel won the women's race ahead of Isabeau Courdurier. Israel's Noga Korem was the surprise winner in third place. Carolin and Anita Gehrig came seventh and eighth respectively.
