The Jungfrau region is a region of superlatives for the senses. The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and various other jagged and glaciated mountain beauties characterize the scenery. Lake Brienz and Lake Thun add to the charm. From a mountain biker's perspective, the Jungfrau region stretches from the Grimsel Pass to Lake Thun and from the Brünig Pass to Mürren. The region is correspondingly diverse and varied. The many shuttle options with mountain railroads, post buses and railroads in the region are interesting. They can be perfectly integrated into mountain bike tours.

It is important to note that the region around Kleine and Grosse Scheidegg and the Mürren area in particular is very popular with hikers in summer and at weekends. A particularly considerate riding style is required here and mountain bikers should avoid the most heavily frequented routes during this time - the Jungfrau region is large enough to be able to switch to attractive alternative routes.

Arrival by public transport

The hub of the Jungfrau region is Interlaken. From Bern, take the Intercity train to Interlaken and from here continue by train to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen or Meiringen. The car-free villages of Mürren and Wengen are also easy to reach by train or cable car. In the regions without a connection to the railroad network (Innertkirchen, Rosenlaui, Habkern), you can travel by PostBus and bike transport is possible on all lines.

Arrival by car

The journey to the Jungfrau region by private vehicle is usually also via Interlaken. All relevant towns in the region are well connected by national and cantonal roads. With the exception of Wengen and Mürren. These villages are car-free and can only be reached by train or cable car. The starting point is Lauterbrunnen, where the car is parked in the multi-storey parking lot.
