As different as the backgrounds, levels and ages of the children from the 15 or so families were, their attitudes were surprisingly similar. It proved once again that sport can turn strangers into friends in no time at all. "Everything can, nothing must" was the motto throughout the three days. Anyone who wanted to take advantage of the various program modules was welcome to do so; those who preferred to go on their own discovery tour - voila. Those looking for connection and exchange found it; those who preferred to keep to themselves were just as welcome.

The children wanted to! As close to the action as possible; to experience everything; with the others, of course: See real bears up close. Up high and into the 113 rollercoaster bends of the Hörnli trail - with their bear bike gang group and without their slightly irritated parents, and then together again afterwards to show what they can do. Ride the magic carpet, preferably 100 times in a row. Fries, ice cream, another ice cream. The nice shirt from the Namuk stand. Trying out Deuter children's rucksacks. Take a break? Never! At most, a quick dip in the shade, a drink and then giving it your all again at the various stations of the fun kids' challenge. Instead of dinner, head to the hotel's ball pool and then keep an eye out for shooting stars in the clear night sky. Right after breakfast, go on a bear bike treasure hunt with your new friends; the black version of course - who likes gravel roads? Then onto the pump track and the playground next door. On the squirrel trail. To the ropes course. Even if there's not enough time. And of course to finish off at the swimming pool.

Definitely not: drive home! Honestly? Neither did the parents! There was still too much left undiscovered and unexperienced - even after three days. The moment was too beautiful not to extend it a little further. To take another deep breath and soak up the incredibly positive event atmosphere.

The bottom line: family bike tours for three are real "quality time". But a family event like this has a different quality; it's like a little icing on the cake on top of the usual enjoyment. In the community and the all-round relaxed and positive atmosphere, the children grew beyond themselves and the parents with them. With pride, but also in practising letting go. The kids allowed the adults to be infected by their unagitated, natural confidence in their own abilities and to be drawn into the flow by their childlike joy. It was clear to see how seriously children are taken as bikers in Arosa - and with the maximum fun factor. "Trust instead of expect" is something that some of them will probably take with them as a motto and benchmark for future undertakings.
