Fox celebrates its birthday - and how

Fox is celebrating its 50th anniversary - and is doing so with a so-called Podium Gold edition. But despite all the visual bling, the real innovations are under the hood, or rather in the right-hand standpipe. This is where an extensive update of the cartridges takes place.

Fox doesn't do things by halves: The suspension specialist is renewing its entire portfolio in one go. On board are new damping systems called GripSL, Grip X and GripX2.

The Grip X2 damping replaces the previous Grip2 version and is available on the 36, 38 and 40 fork models. Fox is retiring the previous Fit4 cartridge and replacing it with the Grip X version, which is installed in the 34, 36 and 38 forks. Grip SL is intended for cross country - i.e. 32 mm forks - and is said to have shed around 60 grams compared to its predecessor
