The southern German bicycle manufacturer Tout Terrain focused on a new configurator for the web in spring. The particular challenge there was to ensure that the countless combinations of frames, components and accessories were compatible. Before the configurator went live, there was an interesting test phase: the development team brought cyclists and non-cyclists together over pretzels and beer and set the participants the task of configuring various bikes on laptops, tablets and mobile devices and testing the operation. The configurator now ensures that the frame size, color, gears, lighting, cockpit, drivetrain, fork, saddle and, in addition to many more options and accessories, even sustainability with CO2 compensation can be mapped.
