Nino Schurter extends his contract with Scott until 2020

The reigning cross-country world champion Nino Schurter is extending his current contract with Scott until 2020, taking the wind out of the sails of rumors that he will switch to the road after the Olympic Games.

Nino Schurter has been riding for Scott for 14 years. After his detour to the road in 2014, the man from Chur has realized that mountain biking is his calling and that it is exactly where he belongs. So for the next five years, Schurter will be focusing fully on mountain biking for the Scott family. The ultimate goal is another Olympic Games, with the competitions taking place in Tokyo in 2020.

Reto Aeschbacher, Brand Manager of Scott Sports, adds that in addition to Nino Schurter, team manager Thomas Frischknecht has also extended his contract. Nino Schurter has been extremely successful at Scott, winning 17 World Cup races and four national titles in addition to four overall World Cup victories, and his big goal for 2016 is the Olympic Games in Rio.
