Val di Campo
Description
The tour starts from Olivone on the Lukmanier Pass road. In the large left-hand bend above Camperio, turn right onto the alpine road towards Anvéuda and climb uphill on this little road to the village of Dötra. It is advisable to have some reserves of strength here, as the path now climbs much more roughly and soon also more steeply up to Croce Portera. Most bikers are on foot for a few meters here. The return journey to the village of Anvéuda is pure fun: you fly through the high moorland landscape on a flowing and wonderful single trail. After Anvéuda, the tour shows its other face again: a steep trail leads to the Cantonill Pass. Just under 300 meters in altitude have to be covered on foot, but it's worth the effort! Not only because of the fantastic view on the Pizzo Rossetto (recommended detour on foot), but also because the descent is excellent. The trail rides via Pradasca to just above Orsaira and then downhill to Campo. The return trip to Olivone takes you along the old access road, which has been spectacularly carved into the rock face above the narrow gorge.
Alternatives: Technical descent from Cantonill via Scandorair to Campo
Tips: Regular bus from Olivone to Camperio (www.autolinee.ch)

We combined the tour with the Sole and went from the campsite at 1756 directly to the Croce. About 20: of it is rideable. The path from Croce over is a bit overgrown again and therefore probably a bit nicer than a few years ago. But if you come from Olivone, you won't miss much if you go straight up to Cantonill. The descent via Scandorair is recommended. A bit steep in places. But apart from 3 places, everything is easy to ride. From Campo Blenio you can add the Compiett tour.
I rode the tour on June 3, 2020. I also think that the loop to Croce Portera is not worth it in terms of biking. The beautiful landscape made up for it somewhat. The ascent afterwards has to be done on foot as described. The descent from Cantonill to Predasca is then very easy and would also be mostly rideable uphill. From there I made a worthwhile detour to Cap. Bovarina. There I came across the "Bovarina Trail", which was specially built for bikers. It was okay, but I'm not sure whether they really wanted to do something for the bikers or simply keep us away from an even nicer trail. However, as I don't know the trail from the hut directly to Ronca Loda, I'll wait (for now) to give a final assessment. From there you are back on the original route, which has a different character. From Campo Blenio I left the route and rode back to Olivone via Compietto. Next time I would ride from Olivone directly to Campo Blenio, then clockwise to Cap. Bovarina, then up to Cantonill and then back down via Scandoniar. Should be rideable for the most part.
I ride a Scott Genius Ultimate, am usually in the head group uphill; downhill always the last one, at a distance.
We did the tour today (Sept 05, 2018). Large parts of the singletrail to and from Croce Portera have unfortunately been replaced by a newly made track. According to the singletrail map, it should be almost 100% singletrail back to the village of Anvéuda - in fact it is still max. 50% :( You can still see the old course of the path in places - but there are signs at every meadow that you must not leave the signposted paths...
We therefore didn't find the detour to the Croce worthwhile.
But the detour to Pizzo Rossetto is definitely worth it! Great views and if you like it steep, you can also take your bike up there :)
The variant "via Scandorair to Campo" is very nice - but probably doesn't dry out completely at this time of year and should therefore be ridden carefully...
