The Japanese component giant establishes the Trail Born Fund. Its aim is to build and maintain mountain bike trails and ensure access to them. Shimano wants to enable trail building projects and support the work of trail advocacy organizations.

The Trail Born Fund will initially focus geographically on North America, Europe and Oceania. From 2026, it will focus on areas in Asia, Africa and Central and South America. The newly founded organization also wants to help integrate local, private and government support programs.
