At last: the bike wash is here

The Touring Club Switzerland not only provides roadside assistance for cars. If you break down on your bike or e-bike, the breakdown mechanics will also come to your aid. The club is introducing a brand new service that has long been available for cars: the bike wash.

The Basel section of the Touring Club Switzerland is launching Switzerland's first fully automatic bike wash, according to its own information. The bike cleaning box is located in the wash center on the TCS premises in Füllinsdorf. "Until now, mountain, trekking and e-bike riders had to wash their bikes by hand in our car wash boxes, which was not ideal. Now you can simply have your bike washed like a car. Completely bike-friendly," says Managing Director Lukas Ott.

From six francs, you can have your entire bike cleaned. There are a total of four programs to choose from. According to TCS, the so-called premium wash with subsequent drying should remove every trace of the last bike tour. Thanks to excellent mechanical cleaning properties, lightly and normally soiled bikes can even be washed without the addition of cleaning agents - for the sake of the environment.

The bike wash in Füllinsdorf is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm. The bike wash is also mobile: on June 13, it will be on site at the Tour de Suisse in Aesch. On August 20 and 21, the wash box will be at the Bikefestival Basel.
