So far, it has affected medium-sized events such as national racing series, but now the wave of postponements is not stopping at the biggest ones either: the most recent victims are the World Cup and the Enduro World Series.

There is nothing more tedious for bike dealers and end customers alike: you agree on which bike it should be - but it is not available. Such delivery problems could arise due to the spread of coronavirus, possibly as early as spring, as factories in the Far East are at a standstill. Two Swiss bike manufacturers take a stand.

The bicycle industry is reliant on China, with the majority of frames and add-on parts coming from the country where the coronavirus pandemic began. The warehouses in Switzerland are full, but supplies will be a long time coming. However, Velosuisse is also reporting positive news: demand for bicycles is increasing, as many people are switching from public transport to bicycles and e-bikes to protect themselves from the virus.
