There are things that fulfill their purpose without being particularly good at anything, but they don't reveal any weaknesses either. Products that don't differ much from others often don't get any attention. Wrongly so, as they fulfill their function and do a good "job". Here are five such candidates from the Ride test material pool.

Bike outfits vary from "screaming" - with wild patterns and neon colors - to "yawning" with old-fashioned cuts and bland color accents. If you don't want to get into trouble with the style police, dress discreetly and with style on the trail. Here are a few products that not only look chic, but also have the best features and that certain something.

Alpina presents the Rocket Youth, the counterpart to its adult goggles of the same name for youngsters. Visually, they are almost identical and the youngsters benefit from the same lens technology as the adults. The children's glasses are in no way inferior to those for adults. The 12-year-old twins Mia and Tim tested the glasses for Ride.

Big, bigger, biggest - that's the trend when it comes to bike goggles. A "huge" lens clearly offers more protection, but also has one major disadvantage. The larger coverage of the face often leads to heat build-up and fogging of the lenses. Not so with the Rocket.

Alpina focuses on good protection from urban to off-road and from head to eyes and presents a few highlights of the new helmets and goggles.

Such open-face helmets have only been seen on local trails for a year or two, and not often. Many are put off by the unfamiliar look, but the shape pulled around the ears makes perfect sense. The Alpina Rootage Evo has certainly proved its worth.

There is one question that everyone asks themselves in spring: What will the summer be like? ALPINA has already answered this question. The enduro summer will be safer than ever before. New, innovative products ensure maximum safety. The colorways are reduced and characterized by matt tones such as dirt blue, coffee grey or light rose. Blur effects and pineapple provide accents.

With the Rootage Evo, Roca and Comox helmets, Alpina is launching new and contemporary head protection for enduro, trail and all-round mountain bikers. Despite their sleek design, the Inmold helmets have no frills and are designed to offer a high level of protection and comfort. The new "5W1NG" goggles and the Ram models from Alpina also offer eye protection and comfort.

With the Rootage and the Twist Fice QVM, Alpina offers a helmet and goggles for enduro bikers with high demands on ventilation, fit and visibility. We tested the two products and reveal what sets them apart and whether they "stand up" to each other.

If you're going downhill, you need tough head protection that won't make you look old if you suddenly find yourself out of your comfort zone. With the new Rootage helmet, Alpina relies on technology that makes the outer shell as robust and light as possible while ensuring comfort. Of course, Alpina also supplies the matching goggles.
