Gee Atherton is one of the most experienced freeriders around. But even this veteran was left speechless in Nepal—and the clip is just as breathtaking. How did this must-see video come about? The Athertons give us a behind-the-scenes look, and it’s just as worth watching.

At Atherton Bikes, there is an interesting portfolio for mountain-oriented mountain biking - but so far no e-mountain bike. This is set to change, and the developers are letting us in on the Map, but are by no means letting the cat out of the bag early: it remains to be seen which motor will be used.

When Storm Darragh swept over Dyfi, it left whole sections of forest as a field of rubble. Trees were snapped, branches were trapped under the weight, and the entire area was transformed into a tangle of man-sized debris. Even walking on this area felt threatening. Driving on it was something else entirely. Months later, Gee Atherton returned to the hardest-hit slope and began carving a path through what the storm had left behind.

The A.150 is the benchmark for rough trails at Atherton Bikes is getting a new addition: the A.150.M is a mullet with a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear. The shorter wheelbase brings significantly more agility and more distance from the rider to the rear tire when things get really steep.

In the S series, the frame builders at Atherton Bikes combine aluminum tubes with lugs made from the same material. The S.200 is a downhill beast on mullet wheels that cut a fine figure at the recent Hardline round.

On Instagram, Atherton Bikes teases a bike with something missing from the rear triangle: the rear derailleur. The speculation is left to the comment column, and the tenor is clear. There's a gearbox bike at the start.

With the new S.150, Atherton Bikes offer a potent all-mountain bike at a more affordable price. Instead of carbon and titanium, the Atherton siblings' brand relies on an aluminum frame construction in which milled lugs are bonded to aluminum tubes. The manufacturing process remains typical Atherton, and the design language is also retained. With an entry-level price of 4480 euros, the S.150 makes the innovative technology of the downhill legends accessible to a wider audience.

Gee Atherton has struggled with terrible crashes and injuries, most recently in a crash at the Rampage 2023. Atherton is still going very fast, but his latest video project seems to show a change: The soon-to-be 40-year-old mountain biker opens his eyes to nature, and finds a true mountain biking Eldorado in Kazakhstan.
