A full fire engine from the Bad Waldsee volunteer fire department was deployed after the battery of a pedelec exploded, according to the Ravensburg police headquarters. The 38-year-old owner of the apartment had charged the battery overnight. In the morning, the battery exploded and briefly set fire to a room in the apartment. A window was broken in the explosion, a door was torn out of the lock and a roller shutter was pushed outwards. Property damage amounting to around 25,000 euros was caused. The 38-year-old man and his 41-year-old wife were slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital. The police are now investigating how the explosion occurred.
