Race-Ticker

When the Epic Bikepark Leogang first opened its doors in 2001 as Austria’s first bike park, first of all, mountain biking was a completely niche sport; second, the mountain biking community consisted of a few “seemingly crazy” people; and third, the idea of building a bike park was somewhere between genius and madness. Twenty-five years later, one thing is clear: the first two assumptions have long since been proven wrong, and thirdly, it was definitely a stroke of genius—one that will now be celebrated from July 24 to 26 as part of the (Leo)Gang Days.

What began in 2001 as a pioneering spirit is now a mainstay of the international MTB scene. Saalfelden Leogang has not only given rise to Austria’s first bike park but has also helped shape one of Europe’s most vibrant mountain biking communities. UCI World Cup races and World Championships, slopestyle events on dirt in the summer and snow in the winter, global attention, generations of riders.

Yet the (Leo)Gang Days don’t follow a traditional event format. As an invitation to everyone who is part of this story—whether you’ve been there since day one or have just joined—the three days will focus on riding, good vibes, connecting with others, and celebrating. Admission is free. From July 24 to 26, 2026, the area around the Asitzbahn valley station will become the heart of the MTB community.

From Friday through Sunday, small challenges will keep things exciting all day long. Those traveling with their families will find a special program for the youngsters at the Riders Playground with the Family Rally—and, of course, everyone else will get their money’s worth too. The hub of the (Leo)Gang Days is the Base Station at the Asitzbahn valley station, featuring an Expo Area and a Chillout Zone. While the Chillout Area—true to its name—fuels the community spirit with the finest beats and cool drinks, the Expo Area is the place to discover the latest MTB gear from the bike park’s partners.

Night Whip-Off Contest

The highlight of the weekend takes place on Saturday evening: When the sun goes down, things get loud. At the Night Whip-Off, bikes fly through the night under floodlights. The field consists of invited riders and wildcard entries. Riders who have already confirmed their participation include Lina Frener, Emma Iten, Jana Rämsi, Sarah Schieder, Christoph Handl, Maxi Oberhofer, Kilian Buhl, Bernd Winkler, Luca Hagger, and Justus Imhorst. After a free practice session—including a Best Trick competition—in the afternoon, the semifinals will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the “golden hour.” Then, as darkness falls, the finals will really get going starting at 9:00 p.m. The Whip-Off Contest wraps up on Saturday with an after-party, under the motto: swap your full-face helmet for a cold drink and celebrate the anniversary as long as the night allows.

25th Anniversary Photo Contest

Since 25 years of Epic Bikepark Leogang wouldn’t have been possible without the community, the team in Saalfelden Leogang has come up with something very special: The Lines Hangman II, Flying Gangster, and Flow Link by Fox will be equipped with photo booths throughout the season, automatically snapping photos of all female riders as they shred and show off their style. The photos can then be downloaded for free.

But the best is yet to come: Every photo also serves as an entry into the big anniversary giveaway. At the end of the season, two prize packages will be raffled off—one for male riders and one for female riders—each consisting of a Scott Gambler in an exclusive “25 Years of Bikepark Leogang” custom design, a complete bike outfit from Fox, a GoPro set, and plenty of goodies from the bike park’s partners.

Entering is easy: Download your photo, post it on Instagram, tag the Bikepark account @bikeparkleogang, and use the hashtag #25epicyears. Since you can upload one photo per day, every day you ride in the park counts toward increasing your chances of winning—the more you ride, the more entries you’ll have in the drawing.
