Indoor dirt jump contests are still very rare at the moment, but in winter this is the perfect opportunity for all bike fans to admire extreme tricks with maximum airtime on a mountain bike and to see where the bar is currently set by the world's best dirt jumpers. The Italian suspension manufacturer Marzocchi has decided to support the Airdrome as title sponsor for various reasons. "Marzocchi is one of the most popular manufacturers of suspension and damping systems in mountain biking and motorcycling, two sports that are mainly practiced in summer. An indoor event like the Airdrome Dirt Jump Invitational is the ideal platform for enthusiasts of both sports. Taking part with Marzocchi is the perfect way to bridge the cold winter months." In 2006, the SuperCross-Over Munich (December 15-17) will be held in the Bavarian metropolis of Munich for the 8th time since 1999. In 2005, over 20,000 visitors came to the Munich Olympic Hall, where normally only the world's best-known music bands perform, over the entire weekend. In previous years, FMX and Super Cross were among the main disciplines, but this year mountain biking will be included for the first time. The organizers of the event have recognized the added value of mountain biking and have decided to expand their event accordingly. In addition to the Dirt Jump Invitational, there will be supercross races and an FMX contest on the opening day (Friday, December 15), in which motocross freestyle legend Ronnie Renner will also be competing.

The riders of the Marzocchi Airdrome will try to finish on the podium one last time this year and bring a fantastic season to a fitting end. One or two of the riders will no doubt already be unpacking their latest tricks, because while the bike season is officially over in the more northern climes of Europe, in places like California the bikes are still in daily use.
