No Swiss Championships in Zermatt

Due to various objections and slowly grinding state mills, the Swiss Championships of the mountain bike speed disciplines cannot be held in Zermatt this year as planned. However, by early summer 2008, Zermatt should have a World Cup-compliant course for both downhill and 4X enthusiasts.

The OC and Swiss-Cycling are already looking into various alternatives. The 4X Swiss Championships and the Zermatt 4X Cup Final could take place on a slightly modified course on September 22-23 in Schaffhausen. Talks are underway with an iXS organizer regarding the downhill event. The final decision will be communicated in the middle of next week on www.swiss-cycling.ch.
