Stefan Gruber, the captain on board at Transalpes, puts it bluntly in the description of the Kickstarter campaign: "The Transalpes C1 is the first carbon bike from our Swiss bike manufactory. We are convinced that with the Transalpes C1 we have made perhaps the best mountain bike even better." The key data: Four frame sizes (XS, S, M and L), 160 millimeters at the front, 150 millimeters at the rear, seat angle 74 degrees, steering angle between 65.5 and 66 degrees, a frame weight without shock in size M of 2400 grams.

As usual, there are a few treats on Kickstarter for start-up financing. For example, the "Made by you" version offers the opportunity to build the brand-new C1 yourself at the Transalpes headquarters, from wheel construction to pressing in the bearings and final assembly, with expert guidance. Or, with the "Signature Edition", to receive a bike with the Transalpes makers' favorite components and, as the icing on the cake, a headset cover with a laser-engraved name. As befits a Kickstarter, the project - or rather the carbon frame construction - will only be launched if the campaign is successful. The C1 bikes are then expected to be available from March 2018.
