The "Pro Ftan" association was already planning such a facility in 2013. Still planned as a skills center at the time, it was decided in 2020 that a trail center made more sense in this region. The first picks were hammered in this fall. Since then, the companies Trailworks and Velosolutions have been working together on this project on behalf of the municipality of Scuol, with Pro Ftan acting as a sponsor and actively supporting the project.

The trail center is located above the Ftan High Alpine Institute and consists of three trails: An uphill trail 200 meters long with an average gradient of seven and a maximum of twelve percent, a blue, i.e. easy, downhill trail just under one kilometer long with undulations and banked turns, and a black section. The latter is steep and rides over jumps, rocks and stone fields and rejoins the blue trail after a good 200 meters. The routes are built alongside existing hiking trails.A connection to nearby Switzerland-Mobility routes is also possible and would even enhance them. The trail center can be reached by muscle power from Ftan past the institute or via the Prui chairlift and the subsequent descent. Construction work is still ongoing. The opening is planned for the end of spring 2022. The exact date will be communicated in good time.However, there will still be a skills center as once planned, one for beginners, families and "Kids on Bike Scuol. Instead of in Ftan, this will be located at the Gurlaina campsite and sports center in Scuol.engadin.com
