What a long weekend, with Easter first and April 1st in the middle. The bike industry has come up with some cool and funny stories for the "April Fools". Here is an overview of the best "fake news" that is absolutely allowed on April 1st.

With a big side blow to the single-chainring hype, Pinkbike has released a cool "April Fools": the front derailleur is advertised as the latest, ultimate chain guide, garnished with spyshots.

MTB Mag is even looking forward to a big merger. The two "Big S" are joining forces and Shimano and Sram will become - at least on April 1st - the industry supergiant "Shiram".

Tune was a colorful place on April 1. The Facebook friends of the Black Forest component specialist were given the runaround when it came to anodizing. It was described quite matter-of-factly that from now on, the aluminum art pieces will be created from colored raw material. Anyone who is not quite so technically adept has probably been taken in by the hoax. Because aluminium parts are only dyed after the milling process in the anodizing bath, coloured aluminium milling material is definitely a good April 1st story.
