On the occasion of the World Cup in Albstadt, Merida presents its new, full-suspension "Ninty-Six". This is clearly trimmed for racing. It has lost weight, is designed for 1x11 drive systems in terms of geometry and kinematics and comes with 29 or 27.5-inch wheels depending on the frame size.

The Swiss Merida importer Belimport is equipping the Davos Hockey Club for the 2013/14 ice hockey season. A special promotion is planned for this: A limited edition of the Merida "Big Seven HCD-Edition."

The Multivan Merida Biking Team is saying goodbye to 26-inch wheels. In future, the racing team led by José Hermida and Gunn-Rita Dahle with Swiss rider Thomas Litscher will rely exclusively on 27.5 or 29-inch wheels. At the team presentation, Merida showed the athletes' new racing bikes and also a prototype of a 27.5-inch all-mountain model.

The Taiwanese manufacturer Merida has so far presented itself - including through the Multivan Merida Biking Team - primarily as a cross-country and marathon brand. For the coming season, it is launching an offensive in the longtravel segment.

The bike brand UMF, which was introduced at Eurobike 2004 and has been active in the dirt sector ever since, will be integrated into the product range of the parent brand Merida with the presentation of the entire 2013 model year at the upcoming Eurobike in Friedrichshafen.

After Merida showed with the "Reacto" that it also has development expertise in the field of road cycling in addition to mountain bikes, the Taiwanese company is now doubling down with the "Scultura Evo SL". The new racing machine easily keeps up with the leaders such as Cannondale or Cervelo in terms of stiffness to weight, but goes one better in terms of riding comfort.

With the "Big Ninety.Nine", Merida is presenting its first 29er fully with 100 millimetres of fork travel and 106 millimetres of rear travel in Mallorca. After the "Big.Nine", which has remained the same in terms of geometry, the Taiwanese now have the second bike on big wheels with the "Big Ninety.Nine".

Although it is only a prototype, Merida is making it clear with the "1.60" that it now also wants to gain a foothold in the enduro sector. The new bike should be available in stores in 2013.

Merida hasn't done much in the race bike sector for a good four years - with the "Ninety-Six", they have designed a bike that is still one of the best even after this long time for a mountain bike. The "Ninety-Nine" is now entering the show stage for the coming model year.

After Merida rather silently presented the aluminum 29er "Twenty-Nine Lite" at Eurobike last year, the Taiwanese now present the "Big.Nine Carbon", a 29er race file made of carbon.

After presenting the "One Twenty" last fall, Merida is already showing the press a revised version of its new marathon bike less than six months later. The most striking difference is the frame material. As the name suggests, carbon is the key word for the new "One Twenty Carbon".

Although Ralph Näf's new racing machine has not made any quantum leaps, there are still some visible changes to the new "Ninety Six Team".

On Saturday, José Hermida will be the defending champion in the cross-country race at the World Championships in Champéry. The Spaniard has been one of the world's top riders for over ten years and embodies the culture of mountain biking like few others. The successful Multivan Merida team on the racing circuit is getting new equipment. Instead of a magnesium-aluminum alloy, their frames are now made of carbon fiber. And the best thing about it: you don't even have to be called Dahle, Hermida or Näf to ride one of these bikes. Merida is launching two versions of the team bikes with the finest equipment on the market.
