The Revelation fork is getting company in the 27.5 inch class: the suspension pioneer is now sending the Reba and Sid forks in the intermediate size into the 2013 season. The forks are not simply intended to be an adapted 26 inch replica, but completely new developments.

When riding technically demanding trails, it's hard to imagine an enduro bike's seat tube without the dropper post. To further boost the trend towards more movement in your stride, Rock Shox is sending the Reverb seatposts into the forest in new variants.

At the Sea Otter Classic Festival, the suspension specialists are already showing what will be emblazoned on the mountain bikes of the 2013 vintage. Included in the portfolio of new products is a revised Monarch damper. For the forks, Rock Shox is increasingly focusing on a simple and user-friendly damping system.

Since its introduction in 2010, the "Reverb" has really shaken up the dropper post market. Now Rock Shox is introducing a new product, the "Reverb Stealth", which will initially only be seen on Scott and Trek bikes.

After the World Cup versions of the "SID" and the "Revelation" were already available with the new Keronite dip tube coating, the "Boxxer Worldcup" has now also been equipped with the new coating.

With the "Reverb", Rock Shox now also offers a height-adjustable seat post with a 125 millimeter stroke.

What was previously only reserved for riders of cross country to enduro bikes is now also a topic for freeriders and downhillers: suspension with air. The new Rock Shox "Vivid Air" is a revolution, so to speak.

Due to the hype surrounding the new Sram X0 and X9 groupsets, the new "SID RLT" almost went under the radar. With 120 millimetres of travel, the SID fork group now has a big brother.

With the new "Sektor" suspension fork, Rock Shox is bringing an affordable alternative to the Relevation onto the market. The "Sektor" has a wide range of designs.

For the next model year, the top fork from the Sid series will be even more sophisticated. Rockshox is giving the Sid World Cup cross country racing fork a new fork crown and a steerer tube made of lightweight carbon.

The new "Revelation" enduro forks and the "Ario" entry-level shocks only have the same name and target group. Otherwise, Rockshox has completely revised both product groups for the 2010 model year. The forks have been given more travel and have lost weight, while the shocks now use the same technology as their more sophisticated siblings in the Monarch line.

10 years are enough: After a decade without any fundamental changes, Rockshox presented the completely redesigned Boxxer at Eurobike. The three new models differ from their older siblings in terms of greater stiffness, lower weight and individual adjustment options.

After ten years, Rockshox is revamping the lightweight classic Sid. The 2008 version of the cross-country fork is based on a completely newly developed damping system and a completely revised stanchion unit. However, the new Sid line not only attracts attention with its inner values, but also with its changeable appearance.

There are still over three weeks to go until the Olympic bike races. But more and more parts that sponsors are producing especially for the races on Mount Parnitha are already becoming public. SRAM and RockShox are not to be missed: After all, Bart Brentjens and Miguel Martinez have already become Olympic champions with the twist grips, and Martinez also rode a "SIDney" fork in 2000. For Athens, RockShox is now presenting the "SID Athena" in elegant mother-of-pearl white, while SRAM is following suit with X.0 twist shifters, a cassette and a chain in a golden finish. The Swiss cracks who will be riding these parts in Athens include Christoph Sauser, Thomas Frischknecht, Ralph Näf and Barbara Blatter.

After an initial, enforced conversion campaign on 2004 bikes, suspension fork manufacturers became increasingly aware that disc brakes with oversized rotors transmit unexpectedly large forces into the left fork leg. As a result, all manufacturers rushed to publish corresponding recommendations. The statement from RockShox was still pending, but it is now all the simpler: rotors with a diameter of up to 210 millimetres may be installed on forks from the Boxxer, Psylo and Duke series, while the limit for all other forks is 165 millimetres ? including the SID, Pilot and Judy model series.

Amsler AG, based in Feuerthalen, will take over the Swiss distribution of Rock Shox on January 1. This move has long been expected in the industry. After all, Amsler is also the representative of SRAM, which in turn acquired the suspension specialist in the spring.

As of today, Christophe Ritzler is no longer head of Rock Shox's European sales headquarters. Instead, he will take on the same role for FOX Racing with immediate effect: High-end supplier FOX was able to celebrate great success in the first business year after launching its suspension forks. The sales structure is now being expanded in order to optimally serve European bicycle manufacturers as well as specialist dealers.

In response to the trend towards more suspension travel and robust parts, RockShox is expanding the "Boxxer" series to three models for 2003. The forks are only stingy in terms of weight, but not in terms of travel or adjustment options. Because RockShox is not participating in the "Onepointfive" standard with oversized fork steerer tubes and crowns for the time being, the long suspension travel forces double bridge designs.

RockShox now offers a retrofit kit that quickly turns a 2001 Psylo into a current 2002 model. At least if it is a steel spring fork, i.e. a "Psylo XC" or a "Psylo SL".

"With this purchase, we want to give the stagnating MTB market a boost. SRAM is focusing on this market out of loyalty to the past as well as out of faith in its future", confirms Cees Lengers, Marketing Manager of SRAM Europe, the deal. SRAM is thus expanding its product range after derailleurs, hub gears and brakes to include the increasingly important suspension technology. The preliminary agreement has been signed, the audit is underway and the joint future plans are to be announced at a press conference in Taipei by mid-March. Consequences for the products of both manufacturers are not expected until 2004.

The Revelation is not the only hot new product from Rockshox for the coming season: the Lyrik all-mountain fork has also been completely overhauled. The new internals not only offer more travel as an option, but also countless options for every riding style and optionally the completely new "Mission Control DH" damping.

SRAM, as the new owner of RockShox, is relocating the entire fork and damper production to Taiwan. The 2004 line will be affected by this move, but the research and development department will remain in the USA.

He is known in Europe as the face of RockShox, and from now on he will also be coordinating marketing for SRAM: Dirk Belling from Munich, who has been Marketing Director at RockShox Europe for several years. This fills the position at SRAM Europe in the Netherlands that has been vacant since the departure of Cees Lengers in the spring.

In the fall, Answer-Manitou came up trumps with the SPV system, while Fox countered with the "TerraLogic" technology. The innovation push at Marzocchi was somewhat more restrained, while the RockShox stand was full of innovations. The suspension pioneers have saved them for the spring: according to the RockShox engineers, systems such as SPV and TerraLogic patronize the rider. They are countering this with "The Red Pill": suspension elements equipped with this technology are supposed to adapt to the rider's wishes and needs at lightning speed without tools and from the handlebars. The website for the new technology certainly looks good.

So far, only buzzwords were known about the next innovation from Rock Shox: The project name "The Red Pill" and the magic word "Motion Control Damping" had to suffice as information. Now the veil has been lifted a little. The aim is a suspension whose characteristics can be adapted to the respective requirements without a pump or tools. And which, despite the adjustment options, does not require increased maintenance. It is now revealed that the new forks can be fine-tuned from the handlebars or crown in both open and locked-out mode. Even in lock-out mode, a residual spring travel is retained and the fork opens automatically as soon as major vibrations occur. That sounds very promising.

RockShox has been teasing people about its new forks for some time on a dedicated website. Now, selected journalists from North America have been given the opportunity to test the suspension pioneer's latest forks for the first time. The "Reba" is interesting for touring riders who value a lightweight bike: with adjustable travel from 85 to 115 millimeters, these forks weigh just 1600 grams. Those who like to push themselves and their bike harder should take a closer look at the "Pike": Its suspension travel can be adjusted from 95 to 140 millimetres ? but it also weighs well over 2 kilograms.

After a few tepid years and integration under the SRAM umbrella, suspension pioneer RockShox is showing a powerful sign of life: two new fork families with reinforced stanchions, stanchion tubes and fork crowns as well as the new "Motion Control Damping" technology are coming onto the market in 2005. With this technology, RockShox offers a wide range of compression and rebound adjustment options as well as the "Floodgate", a mechanism that allows the forks to react to individual bumps even when locked out. This works because the entire housing of the damper is basically nothing more than an extremely hard spring. If the fork receives a shock when locked, the damper housing is compressed quickly and minimally - this is enough to allow the oil to flow and the fork to work.

Spring forks remain a tricky product from a safety perspective. The latest victim of the error devil is Rockshox. The US company is recalling numerous forks from the Domain 302 and Domain 318 series with steel head tubes worldwide.
