Thanks to a wildcard and a change in the UCI regulations, Swiss Cycling was able to send a national team to the start of the Tour de Romandie. Mathias Flückiger was also part of the team. The mountain biker finished 45th overall. His best stage result is 29th place from Le Locle to Morges.
