The new 32-Step-Cast cross-country fork is a significant step forward. It is a good 250 grams lighter than its predecessor. This means that the new suspension weighs just 1360 grams including the Kabolt axle, 165 millimeter shaft length and star nut. The 27.5-inch version is slightly lighter. The 27.5 fork is 225 grams lighter. This makes it the lightest suspension fork on the market. The forks are available in "Gloss Orange", "Matte Black" and "Gloss White".

The main reason for the considerable weight loss is the design. The fork is now ten millimetres narrower and the fork ends are hollow. The dip tubes are recessed to ensure that there is enough space for the brake and the spokes. These are sufficient for 203-millimetre brake discs on the 29er and 180-millimetre brake discs on the 27.5-inch fork.
If you want to ride slightly wider tires in cross-country, you still have the option of riding up to 2.3-inch tires on the new fork.

Fox has stuck with its proven FIT4 technology on the inside. The damper cartridge is almost the same, but has been adapted to the Step-Cast chassis. The patented Float suspension also remains the same. However, since this year, the air volume can also be changed using a volume spacer in order to influence the spring characteristics on the 100 millimetre stroke.
