Gujan rides for the TX Active-Bianchi team in 2013

Martin Gujan has signed a one-year contract with the racing team of Italian bike manufacturer Bianchi, where he will form the World Cup team with Gerhard Kerschbaumer and Alexander Gehbauer.

The 30-year-old from Graubünden is focusing on the World Cup races, where he is aiming to break into the top 10. He also wants to achieve regular podium finishes in the Italian racing series, the national league and BMC Racing Cup races. Gujan proved several times in 2008 and 2009 that he can achieve these goals.

The European Cross-Country Championships in Bern are likely to be the first highlight of the season for Gujan. The Grisons native is likely to be aiming for a medal in front of his home crowd after narrowly missing out on fourth place at the 2009 European Championships in Holland.

Gujan's new team, to which Julien Absalon and José Hermida once belonged, is one of the oldest teams in the mountain bike scene. Gujan has spent the last four years sparring with Marco Fontana and Manuel Fumic for the Cannondale racing team.
