Hayes buys spoke manufacturer Wheelsmith

HB Performance, the company behind the Hayes disc brake brand, has acquired the American spoke manufacturer and wheel specialist Wheelsmith. As the rim and hub manufacturer Sun-Ringlé has already been part of Hayes for a year, the brake manufacturer can now offer entire wheels from its own production.

According to a press release from Hayes, Wheelsmith is an ideal addition to the range. Thanks to the new addition to the product range, Hayes has more opportunities to bring new innovative bike parts to the market. In addition to Wheelsmith's spoke production, Hayes is also taking over the company's extensive expertise in wheel construction and the production facilities for complete wheels in Montana/USA.

Hayes brakes and Sun-Ringé wheel parts are distributed in Switzerland by Intercycle.
