Arnaud Grand tries a lightning start, as he did in Rennaz. However, as early as the second lap, the Italian Franzoi snatches the lead and immediately pulls away. Lukas FLückiger does not have the best of maps. Weakened by a cold among the 50 elite riders, he gets off to a bad start. However, Flückiger quickly makes up ground and pulls away from Marcel Wildhaber and Arnaud Grand at the halfway point of the race. He continued to twist the throttle and, together with Bryan Falaschi, caught up with Franzoi, who had been in the lead until then.

This three-way battle remained undecided until the final lap. As Franzoi and Falaschi were riding for the same team, Flückiger did not want to get involved in any tactical games. He attacks in the second-to-last, technical descent from the castle hill and takes a high risk on the muddy surface. Flückiger is not rewarded for his courage and ends up in the barrier after a slip. Enrico Franzoi benefits from the situation and takes his second Hittnauer victory nine seconds ahead of Bryan Falaschi. Despite his little mishap, Lukas Flückiger still manages to cross the finish line in third place ahead of Arnaud Grand. Marcel Wildhaber finishes fifth.

The victory in the women's race also goes to Italy. Alice Arzuffi plowed her way through the slush almost a minute faster than Frenchwoman Marlène Petitgirard. The 19-year-old Arzuffi thus wins her third race in Switzerland this season, after Dielsdorf and Steinmaur. Third place went to the German Martina Zwick.

This time without a podium finish but still in a good fourth place, 16-year-old Sina Frei finished the international cyclo-cross in Hittnau. Fifth place went to former marathon specialist Jane Nüssli.
