It looked like being an exciting year for the European Enduro Series. With five venues in Italy, Sweden, France and the classic in the border triangle on the Reschen Pass, enduro riders could look forward to some exciting racing events. Out of the blue, the main organizer "Trailsolutions" announced the cancellation of the race series. But that's not all, their flagship events such as the Nordkette Downhill Race and the Nordkette Quartet in Innsbruck have also been canceled.

This bad news for enduro racing was announced by Trailsolutions via their Facebook page.
"After careful consideration, we at Trail Solutions have made the difficult but final decision to no longer organize events. On the one hand, the tense economic situation has forced us to take this step and, on the other hand, the fact that organizing sporting events represents an ever-increasing level of personal liability risk, which we are no longer willing to assume. It is with a heavy heart that we are canceling all planned Trail Solutions events with immediate effect. This affects the events on the Nordkette, such as the Nordkette Quartett and the Nordkette Downhill, as well as the entire European Enduro Series. We would like to thank all participants and partners who have made our events unforgettable sporting highlights in recent years! THANK YOU!"

The reasons given sound plausible, but why such a tough decision is being made so late leaves open questions. Just as unknown is whether the individual venues will still hold their races under their own names. Whether the European Championships in Riva del Garda (ITA), which are also affected, will be taken over by another organizer is also up in the air.
If solutions emerge in this story, they will probably be communicated in the not too distant future.
