Following the Swiss Downhill Championships, the second round of the iXS Swiss Downhill Cup will start on the same course on Sunday afternoon. However, without the newly crowned Swiss champions Beer, Siegenthaler and Niederberger. They are already on their way to the airport, from where they are traveling to the World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

As in the championship race in the morning, it is Gusti Wildhaber who sets the first record despite a fall. Freddy Hunziker, Martin Frei, then championship runner-up Felix Klee and shortly afterwards Maxime Chapuis followed in quick succession with their best times. However, the magic four-minute mark remains untouched until the 19-year-old Australian Moir undercuts it by almost three seconds to secure victory in Anzère.

In the women's race, Miriam Ruchti goes on the attack. After the 26-year-old had to surrender her title to Emilie Siegenthaler in the Swiss championship race almost without a fight, Ruchti was able to gather her strength once again and rode to the top step of the podium in the Swiss Cup race. She relegated New Zealander Alanna Columb to second place and silver medal winner of the championships Martina Brühlmann to third place.
