Thejeffs Store on Ebay is not a bike store. There are mainly car spare parts, but also clothes, decorative items, an Apple printer from the 80s, sneakers, an electric guitar and at least one gravel frame. In addition, hundreds of other products whose only common denominator is that they can be found in the same store on eBay.

A few days ago, a journalist from Pinkbike and one from Bikerumor discovered a Rockshox Boxxer Ultimate in a version that is not yet on the market. Thejeff's store had six of them for sale. As soon as the news articles appeared on Pinkbike and Bikerumor, the offer disappeared from Ebay. 

The information that the supplier provided about the offer according to Pinkbike is just as interesting as it is questionable: "These products come directly from production in Taiwan and are therefore not delivered in the original packaging. They are prototypes that are not intended for sale to consumers and are currently being tested. Purchase and use at your own risk."

Rockshox remains silent

Has someone diverted a few prototypes from Rockshox development? When asked by Bikerumor, Thejeff's store claimed to have obtained the products "legally". When asked whether they had any special connections to Rockshox, the answer was again "through legal means".

Also worth noting is a difference between the screenshots of the offer on the two portals. On Bikerumor, the exclusive Boxxer is offered for 2400 dollars, one is sold, five are still available. When Pinkbike saves a screenshot, the fork costs only 1399 dollars, which is roughly the market price of the officially available fork models. "Four available - three sold," it says. So the parts have become cheaper after some have been sold. At the same time, the total number has increased. Pinkbike published the story two days of biker humor.

Rockshox itself has not commented and, as mentioned, the offer is no longer online. Nevertheless, the Pinkbike author is in contact with a person who ordered one of the exclusive forks. This could clarify what kind of fork it is. Or whether the buyer will actually receive something.
