Polar V650: The bike computer - all-rounder

Polar, the manufacturer of heart rate monitors and training computers, is launching a new product for cyclists. The Polar V650 has been developed for cyclists who want to analyze various aspects of their training. With integrated GPS, touchscreen and built-in barometer and can be upgraded with power output measurement.

Equipped with lots of sports technology, the V650 is small and light (120g). Thanks to the 2.8-inch color display, the training views are clearly displayed and can be changed at the touch of a finger. The LED light on the front switches on automatically when lighting conditions are poor, providing better visibility and safety in the dark. The most important functions of the V650 are: Altitude measurement (barometer), incline/decline, inclinometer, temperature and calorie display, as well as heart rate, speed and cadence.

In addition to the GPS functions, the Polar V650 also offers the Polar Smart Coaching functions, which provide online hobby athletes and professionals with important training information. The training computer is compatible with Bluetooth Smart bike sensors. These provide information on speed, cadence and power. Polar developed the Keo Power Bluetooth Smart in collaboration with pedal pioneer Look. This system provides a precise measurement in watts, power distribution on the pedal rotation, left-right balance as well as the current and average cadence and pedaling efficiency. The system is compatible with all Bluetooth Smart-enabled devices with power measurement software.

The Polar V650 is now available from specialist retailers. The recommended retail price is CHF 299.90 with heart rate sensor and CHF 249.90 without heart rate sensor. The Keo Power Bluetooth Smart is available at a price of 1949.- Swiss francs and the Keo Power Essential Bluetooth Smart at 1149.- Swiss francs.
