Santa Cruz Tallboy 3 - the defender among mountain bikes

Santa Cruz also relies on the advantages of Boost technology for the new Tallboy and presents the Tallboy in a 27.5 Plus and a 29-inch version. With a short chainstay, the Tallboy remains agile and playful as usual.

As a 27.5+ model, it shows its strengths in dusty-dry conditions, the wider tires find flotation on loose ground and offer plenty of traction even when normal tires have long since reached their limits. And when it's pouring with rain, the Tallboy, thanks to the lower tire pressure, keeps the track even over the most slippery root carpets, like a Land Rover Defender with the limited slip differential switched on. Built as a twentyniner, the Tallboy shows its familiar side: whether uphill or downhill, this bike is geared towards forward propulsion. With its large 29-inch wheels, the Tallboy's agility and speed make it the perfect companion for the hunt for trails and vertical meters.

New VPP suspension system and shorter chainstays

The combination of a steering angle of 68 degrees with 110 millimeters of the finest VPP suspension travel takes the original, playful character of the Tallboy to a new level. The longer reach, together with the further shortened chainstays, also contributes to this. These changes also put the Tallboy on a par with the other Santa Cruz models. Thanks to the eccentric flip chip on the upper mount of the rear shock, the geometry remains exactly as it should be - whether you install 29-inch wheels and a suspension fork with 120 millimetres of travel or 27.5+ wheels and a suspension fork with 130 millimetres. And this applies to all frame sizes, from S to XXL. The result is an extremely versatile bike that is the first choice for riders like Greg Minnaar.
