Nino Schurter likes to use touring and cross-country skis as an alternative for his winter training. On the latter, he ventured to the starting line at the Planoiras fun run classic in Lenzerheide and proved his strength there too. Behind professional cross-country skiers such as Ilya Chernousov and Toni Livers, the mountain bike world champion took a respectable fifth place in the "Men 30" category.
