The clincher tires of the pneumatic models "Big Betty", "Muddy Mary", "Al Mighty" and "Black Shark Mud" are affected. The lighter folding tires of these models are not affected by the recall. Schwalbe recommends no longer using the tires and replacing them.

Two new tires for one old one
Because the two models "Al Mighty" and "Black Shark Mud" will be replaced by new tires next year and because Schwalbe is expecting a larger volume of returns, any defective tires cannot be replaced immediately with the same tires. Schwalbe is therefore offering two replacement tires for every tire taken back as compensation for the bikers' effort and patience. Customers can choose whether they want to purchase foldable freeride tires with the same tread immediately or wait until October for the successor models.Exchange in Switzerland via specialist retailers
Unlike in Germany, where Schwalbe is handling the exchange campaign itself, the recall in Switzerland is being handled by specialist retailers. According to the two Schwalbe importers Komenda AG and Trek Fahrrad GmbH, bikers will receive the replacement tires in the stores where they bought them.
