First impression

The protector has a sock-like construction and a very tight cut. It is advisable to try it on and go up a size. The cut is unisex and the smallest size also fits slim legs well. Thanks to their compact design, the protectors can also be worn well under long bike pants.

In use

The ION pads are not quite as easy to put on as other protectors, which is particularly noticeable on sweaty skin. Ideally, they should be put on before the tour. As they are comfortable to wear for hours, you don't have to struggle with sticky skin on the mountain. The tight cut in combination with wide silicone straps and long socks ensures an excellent fit and the Arcon always stay in place. However, as mentioned at the beginning, one size larger is the better choice, as too tight a fit tends to rub in the hollow of the knee.
Ventilation is very good thanks to the honeycomb construction of the protective insert, thin upper material and strategically placed ventilation holes.

But what about the protective effect? The tester and the protector survived a fall without any injuries.

ION presents a great knee protector with the Arcon. It scores points with its large protective surface and additional padding above the knee. The fit is great and the best thing is that there is never a gap in the pad again, except in combination with hot pants.

Recommendation

Remove the protective pad before washing. This is very quick and increases the lifespan until the pad goes into the organic waste garbage can.
