First impression

At first glance, the 60X clip-on saddle hardly differs from the classic "60X Infinergy Ergowave Active" and looks identical in terms of quality. However, it is around 25 grams heavier. As the name suggests, the new "611 Infinergy Ergowave Active Clip-on" uses BASF's Infinergy material, which was introduced a few years ago, as well as the familiar Ergowave and the Active system.

In use

Changing the cover is quick and easy from the second time onwards. You have to get the hang of it the first time. To remove it, pull the cover away from the nose by loosening the shell from below with your thumbs. The cover is pulled on from behind the other way round. The elastic band can be slipped over the base with your fingers and only at the end do you need to fix the saddle nose with the tool provided.

The ride feel is identical to that of a classic Sqlab saddle of the same design. The advantages of the stepped saddle and the flexible seat shell are retained. The cover always sat firmly on the base over several months of use.

Conclusion

After just over half a year in use, the look has suffered. The wet summer has left its mark on the Infinergy material. Even after multiple removals, the cover has held up perfectly. The clip-on system is no different to conventional Sqlab saddles in terms of seating comfort.

As mentioned at the beginning, the clip-on system is a great way for specialist retailers, rental stations and bike manufacturers to help their customers find the right saddle width. Private individuals primarily benefit from the fact that they don't have to buy a whole new saddle in the event of a defect. After all, few people will be in a situation where they need or want to change the cover regularly.
